You’ll arrive at the train station at 6:15 AM, in preparation for departure on the Expedition Train at 6:45 AM. At 7:30 AM, you’ll arrive at the Hidroelectrica Train Station, and then take a 30-minute ride to the Cola de Mono Lodge.

Once you get an orientation from your guides, you’ll take a 20-minute walk to the beginning of the circuit which consists of 1.5 miles (2,500 m) of zip line. After zip-lining down the third cable, take a break to climb up an iron ladder (via ferrata) that’s attached to a rock face. This leads you to a vista that’s 492 feet (50 m) above the Sacsara River.

Next, you’ll return to the lodge and drop off the equipment. Your tour continues to the Cocalmayo Hot Springs, which has pools prized for their crystal clear water. After relaxing in the springs, you’ll once again head to the lodge for a pleasant lunch before returning to the train station. The train departs at 2:50 PM and arrives at Aguas Calientes at 3:35 PM.
